Why expensive compared with tradititonal lighting?

LED lights generally cost more upfront than traditional lighting but are much cheaper in the long run due to lower operating and maintenance costs. The solid-state technology in LED lights is more energy-efficient than traditional lighting but costs more to manufacture, hence the price difference.
